The Britney Effect
(1Co 7:35) And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
This is a topic I have wanted to address for some time now. I search news websites and listen to talk radio not only to be informed, but in order to address a topic that I find socially and biblically relevant. There was a stretch of a couple of months in a row in which I noticed a particular trend on a certain news website. Each day, for two plus months, there was an ad about Britney Spears. It would either pertain to some outrageous act she had just been caught doing, or it had pointed out her parental follies. Let it be known up front that I wasted no time reading up on these news stories…IT IS NOT NEWS!
I began to look at which news stories were highlighted, or which pictures drew in the audience and I quickly began to realize that these stories about Britney Spears and the like serve no purpose but to cause distraction. I am not stating that it is intentional by the news website, I actually think quite differently. I am persuaded that the devil would have us focus on that which is not becoming a Christian to focus on.
I would not think this to be such a big issue save for the FACT that even CHRISTIAN teenagers are sucked into this mass media celebrity hype. More and more Christian teens are interested in the Paris Hilton and Britney Spears disgraces than they are in what is really going on in the world.
Many do not know that there is a modern day “Hitler” running Iran who has admitted to wanting to start WWIII and annihilate the Jews. Many do not know that Russia is in cahoots with Iran. Many have no idea of the Communist/Socialist agenda of MOST of American politicians. Many are ignorant concerning the real science behind global warming and the attempt of certain higher powers who would sell the sovereignty of the U.S. down the toilet in the name of Environmentalism.
BUT ONE THING THEY KNOW: BRITNEY SPEARS IS A BAD MOM!
To that I say, WHO CARES?! There are plenty of bad moms out there. Why should she be so special? This is what I like to call “THE BRITNEY EFFECT.” This is what happens to those who get sucked up in celebrity gossip: they are blinded to what is actually going on in the world.
There really is no purpose to this blog other than to give a name to that which the media is doing, whether intentionally or unintentionally. The Britney Effect will make our eyelids feel real heavy. We may begin to doze of while driving. Accidents await! The best thing to do is not to take any of the Britney sleeping pills. Ignore the news pills they force feed you, you don’t need them. It may feel like you do. They may tell you that you do. But you DO NOT NEED THEM. There is real news which will give you pertinent information.
(Php 4:8) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Don’t let “the disease” aka THE BRITNEY EFFECT get you…and even more importantly, don’t let it get your children!

Media Misrepresentation
I really must stop listening to talk radio! Anyhow, on the drive into work I heard a news update with this headline: Sex Education Prevents Children from Having Sex. Then the information was given as follows:
1. 2000 students given a sex-education class in an urban school.
2. These students were between 14-15 years of age.
3. All students were surveyed after the class.
4. 59% of the females said they were less likely to have sex after attending the class.
5. 17% of the males said they were less likely to have sex after attending the class.
There you have it…proof that sex education works! (You cannot see my face or hear the tone of my voice, so let me help you: SENSE THE SARCASM!!!) This was one of the most ridiculous news briefs I have ever heard! How can they possible give such a title (as stated above) to this brief? This survey in no way, shape or form proves anything! Here’s why:
1. I was not able to find the exact population of 14-15 year olds in America. But here is what I found: 10-14 (8,273,801) 15-17 (21,145,157) A survey of 2000 students is no survey! To advocate a finding based on less than 1% of the population is just bad science! This is actually worse than the Global Warming science!
2. Let’s be honest…a 14 year old cannot be trusted to make a decision on his/her own as to whether or not they should have sex. Adult men fall by the enticement of sex all of the time. Why would we think that a 14 year old would be any stronger at overcoming its enticement than an adult would be?
3. Two hours of STD information and unwanted pregnancy information only swayed 17% of males from abstaining? This gives you the right to say that Sex Education prevents children from having sex? REALLY?!!!
What will prevent teens from having sex? Well, if the desire is there and the willingness couples desire, they are going to do what they will. However, if the fear of God is instilled in them there is a less likely chance of their engaging in this sort of activity. They need to know that God would disapprove of their actions and that He will judge their actions.
(1Th 4:3) “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:”
(Eph 5:3) “But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;”
Children also need to be policed. We live in an age where parents are more interested in being a friend to their child than in being a parent to their child. To all of the adults reading this blog: please remember back! You got into the most trouble when your parent's backs were turned. The minute they allowed you some freedom, you more than likely took advantage of that. While the cat is away, the mice will play…unless there is some fear of God in them. You see, they know that someone is still watching. But left to our own devices, we get into trouble. Even adults need accountability; How much more so 14-15 year olds?
(Pro 22:6) Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
We do not need sex education, we need GOD EDUCATION!

Away With The Manger!
‘Tis the season for ill will and contentions! We have had (here in Buffalo) in the recent past a problem concerning a manger scene that was placed in front of a particular town hall. Once again it seems that a very vocal minority have begun to complain. Let me state this up front: they did not complain that their religious symbols were not allowed to be displayed, but rather had a problem with the “Christian” display.
The display was not taken down, but it was decreed that any and all religious symbols could also be displayed in front of the town hall. So a symbol was placed right next to the manger scene. That symbol happened to be a Wiccan symbol, placed there by the minority Wiccans.
The very first evening that the Wiccan symbol was erected, someone (in the middle of the night) decided to run it over with their vehicle. The next morning, the symbol was flat on the ground with tire tracks over it.
The local radio talk shows were buzzing over this problem and people were allowed to call in and voice their opinion. As much as I wanted to voice mine, I listened intently to those who chose to do so. A woman of the Wiccan religion called to complain about how other religions just want to be recognized in this country and how unfair it is that “Christian” holidays are observed. All of the other callers were outraged that the Wiccans even wanted the symbol displayed next to the “Manger Scene”. Yet all the callers expressed outrage at the thought of someone disrespecting the Wiccan symbol by driving over it.
My thoughts:
1. The initial call of complaint was not to gain freedom to display the Wiccan symbol, but rather to complain about and have removed the “Christian” manger scene. I’m not fooled! People hate Christianity and more specifically Jesus Christ. The proof is in the pudding. When I stand on a street corner with a sign that says “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (ROMANS 5:8) I get scornful laughter, middle fingers, cussing and all sorts of dirty looks. If I were to stand out on that same street corner with a sign that says, “Allah is God” I would likely (in the name of political correctness) receive very little opposition. If I stand on the street corner with a sign that says, “Go Bills!” I would likely receive car honking and cheering…but “zero” opposition. I’ve never once viewed a person give a teenage girl in a bikini the middle finger for offering $2 car washes. You see, people hate Jesus Christ. They hate him because deep down inside they know they will one day stand before him in judgment. The manger scene was almost taken down, not because others want their “religions” displayed, but rather because they hate Jesus Christ.
2. (Gal 5:19-20) “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies…” (Deu 18:10-11) “There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.” God very obviously does not want a witchcraft symbol to be placed next to a display meant to honor him. By allowing this, we are asking for God’s judgment to fall on this nation.
The Wiccan symbol was, of course, placed back up. Christians were to blame for desecrating the symbol and one of two things will happen in the future. Either they will set up some sort of surveillance to monitor the future displays or they will discontinue the display all together. Either way, Christianity suffers and idolatrous religion continues its free course unabated to the hearts and minds of the American people. I assume that the removal of the displays all together is what will likely happen. They will not want to spend the money to protect that which they really do not care about to begin with.
That leaves us with the purposeful destruction of the Wiccan symbol. I personally appreciate someone who has the guts to stand up for what they believe in. It is not that I feel that Wiccans do not have the right to worship whatever they so choose. They do! God gave me a free will and He gave them a free will as well. But I personally think that whoever did that, though foolish and trite, had guts. He stood for what he believed in when what he believed in was attacked. He broke the law, and should and will be punished. But how many Christians defend the name of Jesus when that name is used as a cuss word? How many Christians defend their faith at all? We’ve run into the “Christian Closet!” I thought we were supposed to be “Marching upward to Zion!”
So what do you think?
I personally want to wish each and every one of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! You will not hear me say, “Happy Holidays!” I am very aware of the pagan origin of Christmas, but in my HEART and in my MIND I am memorializing the fact that GOD HIMSELF was born of a virgin. GOD HIMSELF came and walked on this earth. GOD HIMSELF came for a purpose. GOD HIMSELF lived a perfect and sinless life. GOD HIMSELF suffered my shame on the cross of Calvary.
I put my trust in thee O GOD!
I put my faith in thee O GOD!
I put my hope in thee O GOD!
Thank you for the precious gift of Salvation…there is no greater gift.

To Mitt or Not To Mitt?
We had quite a snow storm hit us this past Sat. & Sun. morning (12/15th & 12/16th)…so much so that church service was canceled! This was the first time in a very long time that I did not head off to church on a Sunday morning. So I lounged about in my pajamas. I put the word of God on my lap early and read the book of Ezra. After my reading I turned the idiot box on, sipped some tea and watched “Meet the Press.” The guest was Mitt Romney.
I listened as he answered questions about Iraq and Iran. He addressed our use of alternative resources in order to make both the “tree hugger” and the “SUV driver” at least somewhat happy. He also addressed the need for the nation to recognize God. Now let’s just make this clear, Mitt Romney is a Mormon. Yes, that means he partakes in the religious practices of a cult. Now on the show he mentioned the need to realize Jesus Christ as the Son of God…to which I say, “Amen!” However, we all know that when you begin to prod a Mormon, that they will begin to tell you that you need to be water baptized in order to be saved, which is adding to the gospel, which means NO SALVATION. There is no need to discuss the other theological ideas of Mormonism; that is not the reason I write this blog.
I am simply curious. My wife Wendy asked a question related to whether or not I would or could support a Mormon who runs for president. My first thought was, YES. Let me give you the reasons why:
1. He is not for the secularization of the American public.
2. He is against abortion.
3. He is for a biblical approach to marriage. (at least in the sense of man and woman…I am not sure what he thinks of having more than one wife)
4. He is against radical Islam.
5. He is for drilling in Alaska in order to reduce gasoline costs.
6. He is for developing alternative sources of power in order to keep America from having to be dependent upon the oil of terrorists.
7. He is for prayer in the schools and education of the Creator.
8. These were some of the things mentioned on the Meet the Press program.
All of this sounds great and I am for all of the above mentioned statements. However, my concern lies within the Mormon practices. First, their idea of salvation is not Biblical. Can I support someone who teaches a false gospel? (Gal 1:8-9) Next, their interpretation of the Bible always points (doctrinally) to Joseph Smith instead of to Jesus Christ. They have a tainted view of Israel’s nationality from what I understand. Therefore I cannot trust how a Mormon would deal with foreign relations when it comes to the nation of Israel. So those are some of my concerns. I am curious as to what those of you in “Blogland” think. Would you vote for Romney? Would you vote for a JW or a Mormon? I’ve often told people that I can never cast my vote for someone who is pro-abortion. To me, that would be like consenting to the murder of millions of babies. No thank you! I definitely draw the line there. So, what would you do?

Armed For Christian Service?
I’m sure you have all heard by now about the young man who entered both a mission’s facility and a large Evangelical church and opened fire. Let me give you the basics of the story just in case you have not heard. The news media has been plenty quiet about this one. My thought is that because it was a hate crime against Christianity, that there is little coverage. If there would have been an attack on a Muslim Community, the media would have been screaming for reform.
A young man by the name of Matthew Murray, who had apparently been kicked out of a school that trains missionaries, and had been raised in a very “religious” family, decided to take revenge on Christians by killing as many of them as he possibly could. Obeying the “voices” in his head that he claimed to hear, he armed himself and made his way to the mission’s facility. There he killed two missionaries. Whether they were current missionaries or still in training, I do not know.
After this event, he took a break in order to either make a call or write a letter or something to that nature…my memory escapes me. Then he made his way to New Life Church in Colorado, which was founded by Ted Haggard. (Dismissed last year for his involvement in sexual immorality)
There was a prayer meeting going on at the time that Matthew Murray began firing outside of the building. One woman, who just so happened to be praying and fasting for three days, (when was the last time you prayed and fasted for three days…I will go on record to say that I have NEVER done that for such a long period…I stand amazed!) was a volunteer security guard for the church.
This woman, Jeanne Assam, carried a gun on her for security purposes. Apparently, Murray had been sending threats and the church decided to prepare itself. When Murray came in the doors, Assam ducked down behind a pew or a table, identified herself as a security guard with a gun, and when she had the opportunity, she took the shot that put an end to a crazed mind.
After this story got out, I was listening to a talk show radio program which allows people to call in and comment. I was surprised to find that there were some (not many…but still some) who were upset that a church would keep an armed guard on staff. Those who were upset by this complained that this young man needed to be persuaded to drop the gun without violence, but with love. It was also said that by killing Murray, it showed a lack of faith that God would deliver them.
Here are my thoughts:
1. We’re getting closer and closer to a time when Christians might need to defend themselves. Nehemiah and his group carried weapons as they re-built the temple walls. Violence against Christians is on the rise. Just because we live in America we get this false sense of security. Christians around the world feel the need to defend themselves all of the time. There is one pastor in Africa that carried a gun. He was able to fight off two gunmen who entered the church and began to open fire.
2. Trusting God does not mean acting foolish. Christians today do all sorts of foolish things under the guise of “trusting God”. They talk about men like Abraham who stepped out in faith. True, he did. But he was given a direct order by God…then he stepped out in faith to perform it. Today, Christians make a stupid decision based upon a gut feeling, then trust God that it was the right one. Remember, Abraham did not have the books of wisdom that we have today as given to us by God. Let’s follow God’s word by faith…which means making wise decisions based upon a perfectly preserved Bible given to us by God Himself. Trusting the Bible is TRUE FAITH!
3. Pleading with the boy would have cost more lives. He was ready, willing, and able to take out as many Christians as possible. How do I know this? Here is what he wrote on a website: “I’m coming for EVERYONE soon and I WILL be armed to the @#%$ teeth and I WILL shoot to kill. …God, I can’t wait till I can kill you people. Feel no remorse, no sense of shame, I don’t care if I live or die in the shoot-out. All I want to do is kill and injure as many of you…as I can especially Christians who are to blame for most of the problems in the world.” Notice the “I WILL”s all in caps. Think Satan might have had something to do with this? (Is 14) This young man had heard the gospel. Come on, he was in missionary school until kicked out! He obviously rejected the gospel and hated Christ and Christianity. He needed to be stopped…plain and simple. THANK GOD JEANNE ASSAM DID WHAT SHE DID!

A young man by the name of Matthew Murray, who had apparently been kicked out of a school that trains missionaries, and had been raised in a very “religious” family, decided to take revenge on Christians by killing as many of them as he possibly could. Obeying the “voices” in his head that he claimed to hear, he armed himself and made his way to the mission’s facility. There he killed two missionaries. Whether they were current missionaries or still in training, I do not know.
After this event, he took a break in order to either make a call or write a letter or something to that nature…my memory escapes me. Then he made his way to New Life Church in Colorado, which was founded by Ted Haggard. (Dismissed last year for his involvement in sexual immorality)
There was a prayer meeting going on at the time that Matthew Murray began firing outside of the building. One woman, who just so happened to be praying and fasting for three days, (when was the last time you prayed and fasted for three days…I will go on record to say that I have NEVER done that for such a long period…I stand amazed!) was a volunteer security guard for the church.
This woman, Jeanne Assam, carried a gun on her for security purposes. Apparently, Murray had been sending threats and the church decided to prepare itself. When Murray came in the doors, Assam ducked down behind a pew or a table, identified herself as a security guard with a gun, and when she had the opportunity, she took the shot that put an end to a crazed mind.
After this story got out, I was listening to a talk show radio program which allows people to call in and comment. I was surprised to find that there were some (not many…but still some) who were upset that a church would keep an armed guard on staff. Inconveniently Ignorant
I have wanted to do something on “Global Warming” for some time now. But with finals coming this week, I have not had much time to post anything. But I figured I would just quickly post the nine points of Mr. Gore’s Global Worship Theology. I will follow up with this in the very near future.

Render To Cesar
(Rom 13:5-7) Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. (6) For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. (7) Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
A funny thing happened last night while in Church History class and I thought that it was worth “blogging” about. The Pastor brought up an interesting question. He asked us to think about what would happen if “The Church” lost its tax-exempt status.
The funny thing was not the question. The question was well asked and worth pondering. It was the response of the class that I found most amusing. There was a literal hush that came over this group of 25-30 students. It was as if the Pastor had mentioned that someone was caught in an adulterous relationship within the body of Christ. I looked around briefly to see people shaking their heads in fear of such a thought and something just popped out of my mouth: “I don’t think we should be tax exempt.” That comment seemed to catch the Pastor’s attention as he asked me to repeat it, but then did not comment. Perhaps he thought my statement to be foolish, or perhaps he didn’t want to get into a long debate. After all it was Church History class, not Church Administration.
So let me ask this to any and all who read this “Blog: What IF we lost our tax-exempt status? What do you think the Apostle Paul would have thought about the issue? Do you think he would have cared to pay any attention to the matter at all?
Think about it! We have the ACLU breathing down our necks at every moment. They would have no right to if we paid taxes. What would be the problem?
1. Pastors would have to cut their salaries down. God forbid any of them have to work for a living. Hey don’t get me wrong; to draw a salary as a Pastor would be a nice thing and I in no way shape or form think it is wrong. But how many would be willing to Pastor if their salaries were cut or were non-existent? It just might separate the wheat from the tares.
2. The Church would be forced to step up their giving. For all of you covetous preachers out there: this would give you more of an opportunity to preach the tithe!
3. This might kill the Mega-Church. Churches that run more like a business but with tax-exempt benefits might soon find out that “The Church” SHOULD NOT be run like a business.
4. We’d trim off the fat. (And this coming from a hefty man!) Seriously, we’d be forced to make wiser decisions with the money God has entrusted us with. We could no longer spend money on dances, social engagements, the latest high-tech equipment, or coffee shops within the church building. So sad, too bad.
So what do you think? Am I way off base? Please feel free to let me know what you think. Feel free to correct if you feel I need it. Just be nice. Honestly, I think Christians spend way too much money on covetousness than they do on evangelism. Just a thought…

Senseless Violence
(Gen 6:11) The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
We cannot escape it…we must come to that understanding quickly. Violence is everywhere. As in the days of Noah, so are they now just prior to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
But I was especially upset after reading a news website article which spoke of a woman who was beaten by a group of middle-school aged children. The article spoke of it being a “hate crime” and a possible “race crime”. The women happened to be white and the children black. (African American if you’re that sensitive) Quite frankly, it doesn’t matter if this was a race crime or not. Sorry, doesn’t matter!
These were (according to the article) 14-15 year old students.
My first thought: At 14 or 15 shouldn’t you be in high school? Hey kids, spend more time in the books and less time practicing violence on your video game systems and when you are 15 you will be in High School, not Middle School.
My second thought: White, Black, Yellow, Purple or Plaid…who cares! This is still a crime of hate. How can someone have so much hate and violence inside so as to attack a defenseless woman who was simply looking for a seat on the bus? By the way, this is how the fight began. She wanted a seat; they said no. She moved and tried another seat; they said no. Finally she just found a seat and sat down; they beat her so badly that she had four broken bones in her eye socket.
My third thought: (This is the one where I’m going to likely lose you) What do you think should happen to these “children”? Should they be suspended from school? Should they be sent to prison? Perhaps they need a hug and someone to tell them that they are loved. Wait a minute; they need a good boost of self esteem, don’t they? Rubbish! What do you suppose would have happened to them had they liven under the Mosaic Law?
(Deu 21:18-23) If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: (19) Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; (20) And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. (21) And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear. (22) And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree: (23) His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
So we’re not under the Mosaic Law anymore, right? No we are not. But here’s a thought: Do you think these boys and girls (there were a couple of girls involved in the beating as well) have any fear of punishment? What will they get? I can tell you what punishment they have received thus far: they cannot use the bus. Now there’s a punishment that fits the crime.
Do you suppose these children would have lifted a hand against this girl if they feared being beaten within an inch of their lives as a form of punishment? How about if they knew they would be put to death for beating the woman? Would they have dared do anything so stupid? Not likely.
Now before you run away thinking that I would like these children to be put to death, think again. First and foremost, these children need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. They need to understand that there is a God in heaven keeping tabs on everything they do. They need to understand that entering eternity without having their sins forgiven means an eternity in the lake of fire. They need to know that punishment is real…and eternal.
We live in a day and age in which God has been removed from nearly all of the minds of today’s youth. They have been taught that they are animals in evolution’s chance and act as such. They do not need to be coddled. They do not need a boost of self-esteem. They do not need to go through a system.
THEY NEED JESUS CHRIST!!!
Will someone please step forward and be willing to share the gospel with a lost world?
SOMEONE…ANYONE?!

A Subtle Golden Distraction
(Gen 3:1a) Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made…
One thing the prince of the powers of the air has continued to do since the Garden of Eden is to package that which is wicked in very attractive ways. Well, he has done it once again. This time it is called The Golden Compass.
Christians more interested in being entertained than they are in filling their minds with truth will undoubtedly line up at the theatres this weekend to see what looks to be a spectacularly made movie. Unfortunately, though released for what the secular world likes to call “The Holidays” and what Christians like to call “Christmas”, the Golden Compass is anything but God friendly.
Over the past few weeks I have researched some articles on the author of the Golden Compass book, Phillip Pullman. From what I understand, he has written a trilogy of books. These books put down God and His Church and exalt witchcraft, humanism and atheism. In fact, it seems as though Pullman wanted to write a trilogy of books opposite to the works of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, who very obviously used Christian undertones in their works. What is his goal in all of this? Apparently to kill God in the minds of today’s youth. Children are even influenced into accepting a personal Daemon into their life. (Pronounced Demon) The movie will be toned down, but consider this: if the movie does well, children will want to pick up Pullman’s books. When they do this they will get the works of a man who obviously wants to program children into not believing in God.
(Mat 18:6) But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
So what can we do about it? Well, nothing. The movie will come out no matter what we say or do. Movie makers and authors have the same right to voice their opinions in America as Christians do to proclaim the gospel. That is not the problem at hand. The problem is that Christians are so often uninformed and will therefore send their children off to see this movie and unwittingly teach their children to disbelieve God and put no confidence in His authority.
I said that there is nothing we can do about it. What I meant is that there is nothing we can do to prevent the movie from being played. But we Christians must realize the harm this movie (and more particularly the books) could have on the minds of our children. We must not allow them to see it or support Pullman’s works in any way. We must educate our children in what Pullman is trying to do with this work, no matter how much they want to see it.
(Hos 4:6a) My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge…
The movie looks great! It is obviously very well done! It looks as good as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil did to Eve. Despite God commanding her not to partake of that fruit, she did…and she died, her and Adam.
Phillip Pullman, you’re not getting my money. God has given me every penny, and every penny belongs to Him. You’re not getting my mind. God has given me a brain; I will exercise it with His word, not your wicked imagination. I do not have children, but if I did, Mr. Pullman, you wouldn’t get them either. They would be the Lord’s heritage and would belong to Him.
(Psa 53:1) The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
Sorry Mr. Pullman, but I guess that makes you a fool.
Christian, don’t you dare be fooled! Stay clear of the Golden Compass!

Let It Be Said That I Stood!
"When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound and time shall be no more..."
I love the old Hymn "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder". In particular, I love the above mentioned lyric. It reminds me that there is coming a day soon in which the Lord will descend bodily from heaven and proclaim the throne of David which rightfully belongs to Him. Before that, I will either die or be raptured.
With that being said, I have given some thought as to what I would like to go on my tombstone. It is my intent to leave this world only after making some sort of a lasting impact. The words I would like to appear are these: "Let it be said that I stood!"
Let it be said that I stood for righteousness and stood against evil!
Let it be said that I stood for truth and abhorred guile!
Let it be said that I stood for the word of God and stood against men standing up at the pulpit with only their opinion!
Let it be said that I stood for correct doctrine and stood against false doctrine!
Let it be said that I stood for the name of Jesus Christ!
Let it be said that I stood for the King James Bible!
Let it be said that I stood for the honour and glory of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Just let it be said that I stood!
This is my purpose behind blogging. Every day I read something in the newspapers that grieves my heart. Every day I see a headline or an advertisement and wonder how long God will allow such folly in America. Every day I wonder when the true Church of Jesus Christ will arise from her slumber, put on her marching boots, and do that which the Lord Himself instructed...and every day she falls short.
My hope and expectation is that this blog will both inspire and educate us all out of our slumber. I do not fear pointing my finger against that which is false, but I will NOT ridicule those who from an honest heart share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
If you proclaim the name of Jesus Christ from the street corner, but I do not like your demeanor, I will keep my mouth shut.
If you pass out a tract, but struggle personally with sin, I've got nothing to say except "I love you brother...keep on keepin' on!"
But if you proclaim a false gospel I will point you out.
If you hide behind smiles and handshakes but declare that which is false, I hold no sympathy.
If you stand against Jesus Christ, I will have no reservation in pointing you out in a crowd.
You may find many things to say against me...I will likely make that very possible. But at least you won't have any problem saying, "At least he stood."

You may find many things to say against me...I will likely make that very possible. But at least you won't have any problem saying, "At least he stood."
